One of the market analysts with Rosenblatt, Jun Zhang in the latest note has written that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone could support a stylus. The device could also be cheaper than the other two models. Zhang says the handset could be priced around $799 range. This strategy is assumed to take place in order to push iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S users for an upgrade. The particular device is being tipped as the ‘iPhone 8S’ and internally as ‘Jaguar’.
The device is said to be cheaper due to the usage of LCD screen instead of OLED and a different material instead of the metal. More material cost reduction could be around radios, single rear camera setup and exclusion of force touch among other features. However, the ‘notch’ design will remain and a small bezel might be there below the screen.
Talking about other upcoming iPhones, the analyst claims that the upcoming 5.8-inch model, which will be the successor to the iPhone X, won’t have many changes. As for the larger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone, the device is expected to support the ‘iPen’, which will bring the device in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note series.
Some other features mentioned include better water resistance, 3D sensors and more efficiency with less battery consumption.
